Scones


Aim: To look at different kitchen ingredients in scones and their effects.



Recipes:


Normal: 1/2 cup of Edmond standard flour, 1 tsp Edmond baking powder, 2 tsp of butter and 1/2 cup of milk - Approximately.

NO butter: 1/2 cup of Edmond standard flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1/2 cup of milk - Approximately. 

NO baking powder: 1/2 cup of Edmond standard flour, 2 tsp of butter and 1/2 cup of milk - Approximately.

With lemonade: 1/2 cup of Edmond standard flour, 1 tsp Edmond baking powder, 2 tsp of butter and 1/2 cup of lemonade - Approximately.

Materials:
1. Container
2. Plate
3. Plastic spoon 
4. Flour 
5. Baking powder 
6. Butter 
7. Milk 
8. Lemonade
9. Baking soda 

Process


Recipe 1: 
Step 1: The teacher cam around and gave us a container and plate. 
Step 2: As a group we went up and got the home kitchen ingredients {Flour, Baking powder, Butter, Milk}. The teacher put them into our container that went up with us.
Step 3: We mixed all the ingredients together into a big ball.
Step 4: Then we slowly poured the mixture onto the plate.
Step 5: As a group we molded the big ball into a scone.
Step 6: Then put it on the cooking tray to be put into the oven. 

Recipe 2: 
Step 1: As a group we went up and got the home kitchen ingredients {Flour, Baking powder, Milk}. The teacher put them into our container that went up with us.
Step 2: We mixed all the ingredients together into a big ball.

Findings:

Golden It's dry and doughie. It doesn't taste great as well.43 mm

4. WITH LEMONADE

Golden/WhiteIt's sweet and doesn't taste great. 40 mm 


Conclusion:
Normal: The Normal scone was golden, it was dry, also didn't taste great and was 36 mm.

No Butter: The no butter scone was white, it was doughie, also didn't taste great and was 52 mm.

No Baking Powder: The no baking powder scone was golden, it was dry, doughie, also didn't taste great and was 43 mm.

With Lemonade: The with lemonade scone was golden, white, it was sweet, also didn't taste great and was 40 mm.

Variables:
All of our scones were cooked for 10 minutes and 200 degrees Celsius but they didn't taste great. I liked this experiment but it was to do with food and baking.
