Hello, and goodbye poem

For Wananga our class has been working on a poem called hello and goodbye. This poem is about saying hello to something and goodbye to something. We were saying goodbye to our Covid-19 lives in lockdown and saying hello to normality. This poem will have helped people move on from lockdown and leap back into normality.

Here's my Hello, and goodbye poem:

Hello to Mum waking me up in the mornings
Goodbye to having sleep ins in the mornings

Hello to seeing people in reality
Goodbye to google meets

Hello to making school lunches
Goodbye to making home cooked lunches

Hello to the netball girlieees
Goodbye to netball in the driveway

Hello to normality and freedom
Goodbye to lockdown

Life in the middle ages

In social studies we have been learning about the black death. This week my task was to complete life in the middle ages. Life in the middle ages had a king, nobles, lords, knights, vassals, peasants, serfs and farmers.

Here's a question I had to research:
What is the difference between a pandemic and epidemic?
An epidemic is a disease that affects a huge number of people within a community, population or region and a pandemic is a deadly disease that can be spread worldwide. For example Covid-19 is a pandemic as it is a deadly disease being spread worldwide.

Theses were the key words for life in the middle ages:
Clergy: Someone appointed to take charge of religious duties
Lord: A man of noble (Rich) rank, also known as nobleman
Peasants: A poor farmer who owns little or nothing
Village: An area where peasants live usually farming areas away from towns or cities

Here's a medieval society pyramid:

What I thought life was like in the middle ages:
Life in the middle ages looked like absolutely hard work for the peasants, serfs and farmers who worked the land to grow crops. The peasants, serfs and farmers lived in a small village with no bed to sleep on at nighttime. The serfs were the slaves of the village for the lords. The peasants and serfs were very religious and believed their faith could take them to a better world. The knights had an awesome privilege to ride horses and work for the lords.

What life was actually like in the middle ages:
The majority living during the middle ages lived in the country working as farmers. Generally there was a lord who lived in a large house called a manor or a castle. The peasants and serfs worked the land for the lord, they were called the lords “villeins” which is a servant. In the early middle ages under the feudal system life for the peasants, serfs and farmers was hard. Even in the later middle ages the peasants, serfs and farmers life was still hard. Their village was made of wattle and daub with a thatch roof but no windows, also they had no beds. The peasants and serfs were very religious and believed their faith could take them to a better world.

The Cardio Respiratory System

Today for PE my task was to complete a slideshow about The Cardio Respiratory System. The Cardio Respiratory System is made up of the heart, lungs and blood vessels that are responsible for circulating oxygen and carbon dioxide around the body.

Here's 2 questions I had to research:
What are the three major cell types that you would find in the blood?
Red Blood Cells
White Blood Cells
Platelets

What is there purpose?
Red blood cells carries oxygen and removes the carbon dioxide from your body, transporting it to the lungs for you to exhale. Red blood cells are made in the bone marrow.

White blood cells are an important part of the immune system. These cells help you fight infections by attacking bacteria, viruses and germs that invade the body. White blood cells originate in the bone marrow but circulate throughout the bloodstream.

Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body from clots to stop bleeding. If a blood vessel gets damaged, it sends out signals to the platelets. The platelets rush to the site of damage and they form a clot to fix the damage.

Workouts through lockdown...

Today is my opportunity to lets you fellow New Zealanders know the workouts I've been doing daily in this awful time of dealing with Coronavirus. I've been doing a workout to keep my fitness up and also it's apart of my PE for school. Everyday I do my workouts it gets harder and harder as I like challenging myself.

For the first few weeks of doing my workout I did push-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges and burpees. I also did an abs workout, for the first few weeks I did leg raises, sit-ups with my feet in the air, russian twists, then a combined one where you do a sit-up, 2 leg in and outs and 4 russian twists.

Just recently I heard about a lady named Chloe that does this program called 2 weeks shred workout but the website is called Chloeting. I started this program on Tuesday 28th April 2020. Day one was a 23 minute workout, video one was "Do this everyday to lose weight" this workout is astonishing if you like hardworking and challenging exercises, video two was "2 weeks abs workout challenge" this abs workout was astonishing and it definitely works the core for you to create abs. Day two was a 33 minute workout, video one was "Do this workout to lose weight" this workout is awesome, video two was "2 weeks abs workout challenge" this abs workout was a little painful this time as my core was sore from yesterdays one, video three was "11 line abs" this workout was very challenging and was harder than the abs workout. Day three was a 45 minute workout, video one was "Do this everyday to lose weight" this workout was excellent, video two "2 weeks abs workout challenge" this workout just keeps getting more painful as I'm doing it everyday to create those awesome looking abs, video three was "Lower body burn workout" this workout was really based around your legs and butt its makes your lower body sore afterwards, video four was "11 line abs" this workout was a little harder than yesterdays one because my core was already hurting. Today I'm doing day four with 10 days left to go.

Also everyday I've been doing a family walk after my workout and on our walks I do obstacles with my puppy Boof. He really enjoys getting out of the house and just going for a walk. Sometimes I've been going for a bike ride with my Dad. Theses bike rides are really fun and we have laughs along the way.

During this lockdown I've lost 5kg doing these workouts everyday. This program is excellent and I do suggest you's try it out 😄
