    Cyber-smart reflection

In term 3 we were learning about smart relationships. We were writing positive and negative things on padlet about our blogs. We also learnt to never put our private information online because you never know who's on the other side of that screen.

This term we were learning about smart user. We were learning and working towards the Summer Learning Journey. The Summer Learning Journey is to help and keep your standards up in maths, writing and reading. There is 60 different activities with only 6 weeks. That you do at least 3 activities a day. That you can do the days in any order.

My favorite thing in cyber-smart this year was? To work in groups with my friends. Also making heaps of blog posts about what we learnt and what we were learning.
Something I didn't enjoy was? Not having enough time to make a quality blog post.

Something my cyber-smart teacher did well? That Miss Morgan did well on teaching us about cyber-smart and making us understand to be smart ad safe online.
Something my cyber-smart teacher could do better? Letting us have enough time to do a quality blog post.

    Science Roadshow

Today my class, 7tz and I went to a science roadshow in the learning street plus the 3 science labs. First people from the science roadshow company introduced themselves and the helpers. The people running the science roadshow were Shane, Samantha and Dave. The helpers were years 9 & 10. After introducing themselves and the helpers they showed us some different experiments. 4 peoples volunteered and the people were Me, Kody, Tukotahi and Malakiah. There were heaps different experiments.

I volunteered for the first experiment which was used with liquid nitrogen. I hold a black number 8 pool ball and dropped it into the metal hoop 3 times with no struggle. Then Shane put the metal hoop into the bottle of liquid nitrogen for about 5 minutes. While the metal hoop was sitting in the bottle of liquid nitrogen I was putting on safety gear. The safety gear I was putting on was gloves and glasses. I came back up and Shane took the metal hoop out. I dropped the black number 8 pool ball in the metal hoop 2 time with struggle. I pushed down 2 times also with struggle.

We had about an hour to try out the different activity. There were 70 different experiment set up for us. My favorite experiment was the swirly chair that you hold 2 medium heavy sticks. If you made your body smaller you will go faster. If you made your body bigger you will go slower.

    Purple Cabbage Experiment

Today my class and I did an experiment called purple cabbage. We went in groups of two's and three's. I had a group of three and in my group there was Anneleise and Shekinah. We used 3 ingredients called Purple cabbage, white vinegar and washing powder. We used 3 different types of equipment called 3 beakers, a stirring rod and a blender. I learnt that it turned a different color to what I thought. The one without white vinegar or washing powder was purple. The one with washing powder turned to dark pink. The one with white vinegar turned tortoise.
