Finger prints
Aim: To look at the different types of fingerprints.
Material:
- Finger
- Ink/Ink pad
- Magnifying glass
- Balloon
Steps
- The teacher gave my group a balloon.
- Then we all went up and inked our thumb/finger.
- Then remove the ink from our thumb/finger the the balloon.
- Then you wait for the ink to dry.
- Then you blow up the balloon.
- Then you check to see what pattern your thump/finger is (Arch, Loop or Whorl.)

Summary of findings:
Our thumb: My friend Addyson had a whorl on her thumb but me and my friend Hope had a loop on our thumb.
Our fingers: My friends Addyson and Hope had a loop on their finger and I also had a loop on my finger.
Hidden fingerprints:
Aim: To learn how to lift hidden fingerprints from an object.
1. Lifting and Gathering fingerprints.
Equipment:
- Table
- Plastic paper file
- Baby powder/Coca powder
- Brush
- Tape
- Fingers
- I-pad
Method:
- As a group we went up front a got some baby powder.
- Then the teacher gave us a plastic paper file.
- Well the plastic paper file was in our hands, we made fingerprints.
- Then we used baby powder and then brushed it around with a brush.
- As we were brushing baby powder around on the plastic paper file, we found the hidden fingerprints.
- Then we got a piece of tape and then put it on the fingerprints that became exposed.
- After all that we took 2 photos.
