Graphologists are forensic experts who look at handwriting.

Many things can be forged: art works, money, writing, etc

Aim: To Analyse a signature using forensic science.

Material:

A pen / pencil
Tracing Paper
Writing paper
A ruler

Steps:
A. Top Of Letter Analysis

1. Sign your name on a sheet of writing paper and get someone else to try to copy it.
2. Place the tracing paper over both signatures and make a dot at the top point of each letter – for both signatures.
3. Join up the dots for both signatures to get two zigzag lines across the signatures. Are the lines the same?

B. Bottom of Letter Analysis

1. Put some fresh tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Put a dot at the bottom of each letter.
3. Join up the dots to make zig zag lines. Are the lines the same?

C. Slant Analysis

1. Put a fresh piece of tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Mark a vertical line down through the middle of each letter (using a ruler), slanting it in the same direction as
the letter.
3. Compare the set of lines for both signatures.
What do they tell you.

Findings:

Analyzing
You
Friend
Top Letter Analysis
Are the lines the same?
The tops of these letters were not the same as mine  -  E,P,other E,T,O and the NNo the top letters aren't the same but are pretty close.
Bottom Letter Analysis
Are the lines the same?
The bottom of these letters were not the same as mine
- E,P,other E,T,O and the N
No the bottom letters aren't the same but are pretty close
Slant Analysis
What are the slants telling you?
The letters that were not the same as mine are
- S,T,E,P,T,O, and the N
No the letters aren't the same but 3 letter were the same
- M,L and the letter E

Write up the findings based on the following questions.
For the top and bottom letters my friend Hope did pretty well. For the top letters Hope got 6 letters incorrect which was E,P, the other E,T,O and the letter N.
For the bottom letters Hope got 6 letters incorrect which was E,P, the other E,T,O and the letter N. For the slant analysis letters Hope got 7 letters incorrect which was S,T,E,P,O and the letter N. But for the slant analysis letters Hope got 3 letter correct which was M,L and the letter E.

Writing analysis of a friends forgery.

The size of the letters – all big, all small, mixed?

Where they dot the ’ i ‘– over the top or off to the left or off to the right, or not at
all

How they cross their t – straight, angled up or down, where on the t stroke it
is crossed

The slant of the letters (use a ruler) – forward, backward, upright, mixed

Are there breaks in words, or are all the letters in the words joined up

The length of stalks on y, q, p, below the lines – long or short

Multi-Sports and Ball Skills

Today we started our module P:E, I'm very happy to be starting this new module because I'm really into sports and especially netball.

The first sport activity we did was learning how to trap the ball for when you play football in winter at school. For the football activity we got into groups of fours and in my group I had (Myself, Addyson, Hope & Kalea) They are all very good friends too me so that's why I choose them. After learning how to trap the ball we started playing a little game, four on four. We started kicking the ball front, side to side and back, when we caught the ball with our feet we used a trap, then kicked the ball to someone in our group of four hopping that the other group of four didn't intercept it with there foot. If the other group had the ball yourself and your teammates would try intercept the ball with their foot.

After that we started our next and last sport activity. For that sport activity we did a game called
multi-Sports. Multi-Sports is a game that you have 2 equal teams, then the teacher will call a sport out and the amount of people that would do that sport.

Maths DLO

Today for math my group was doing DLO's (Digital Learning Object) using a column strategy. The column strategy is my favorite with addition and subtraction.

Here's my slide presentation:

Hope you enjoy this slide presentation about column strategy's.

About Showing Off Our Games

Today for our first day back at school we had P:E. Our teacher for this term modules are Miss Simpson and Mrs Allan-Fletcher. In my group I had Myself, Addyson, Hope, Nici and Evelyn. In P:E today we were showing our game that we made last term to another group. Also by showing our new games, we also through about three question, we got and give feedback to the group we were with.

Firstly we showed our game to the other group. My groups game is called obstaball, we came up with this name because our game is an obstacle using balls. Our game is a mixture of netball, basketball and football. The other group read how and what to do on Hope's Chromebook. Once the other group read the rules, they played it and got it complete wrong. So then we played against them and they got it correct. Then we ended up playing the game so more because the other team enjoyed it.

After we showed our game, they showed their game too us. There game was called schadenfreude. Before we started playing there game, we read the rules on how and what to do on Axle's Chromebook. Then we started playing there game and it was fun because your team was playing against 3 other games. My team won with 11 points and Hope's team lost with 3 points.

Here's our game. On how and what to do, plus the rules.

Object

Our game is a obstacle that involves movement and teamwork. The aim is to go through an obstacle to get a goal, then once you have gotten the goal you go back through the obstacle to try get back first to win.

Players

Two teams with five players on each team.

Equipment

A netball hoop, Cones, Netball and Football

Scoring

To score a goal in a netball hoop but if you miss another teammate has to grab the ball after one bounce and it’s not aloud more than one bounce.

Winning

Kick the football through a zigzag shape, Then passing between your teammate with a netball in a zigzag shape, Then try shoot the netball in the netball hoop but if you miss one of your teammates grabs it after ONE  BOUNCE, Then you pass in a line till you get to the zigzag where you kick the football again, And the people in your team that isn’t kicking does the spider walk backwards, And once everyone in your team gets through the zigzag, YOU WON.

Rules

  • NO pushing the other teams players.
  • NO missing and cheating on the obstacle.
  • Play fairly.
  • NO mucking around or sabotaging while doing the game, to make sure your team loses.
  • NO speaking nasty to your teammates and the other teams players. MAKE sure you are supportive or your teammates and the other team.
  • NO kicking outside of the boundaries.
  • NO discluding a player of your team.
  • NO holding the ball between your legs while doing the kicking through the zigzag area.

The feedback:
The feedback we gave to the other group:
What worked well? My group loved the games because it involved competitive.
What didn't work well? We didn't really dislike everything in the game.
What would you change? Change the limit of roughness and also change the number of players aloud on each team.

The feedback we got given:
What worked well? They loved our game and liked the way we used two different styles of ball.
What didn't work well? They didn't really dislike everything about the game.
What would you change? Change the backwards spider walk to something else.

The best ways to make a comment:

Today in class we were talking about what a helpful, positive and thoughtful comment were. As a class we all came up with good ideas on what they meant to us.

There's a slideshow presentation above to show you lovely people what helpful, positive and thoughtful comments are.

Hope you enjoyed learning about what different types of comment are in my books.

Weeding The Garden - C.I.P

Today we had Community Impact Project, which our groups name is Tāne Māhuta and which is basically looking after our school. We had three options, the first option was helping to clean up around the compost area, also picking up rubbish's,Cabbage leaves,Sticks and more. The second option was gardening, for gardening you were to help picking out weeds from the roots and ready for planting our vegetables The last option was to help promote the plum jam we made a few weeks ago.

I choose the second option, which was gardening. My friends also choose the second option, which was gardening. When we arrived at the garden near the back of our school, we started picking the weeds from the roots. As we were picking the weeds my hands were getting dirty and disgustingly smelly. Also while we were picking the weeds, we saw some spiders and beetles. Once we finished picking the weeds, we started walking back to class and finding out that everyone's groups went well.
